Happy 14th birtday Roel!

Gisteren werd onze zoon Roel 14 jaar. Dat was tijd voor een feestje!

Omdat hij aan iedereen geld had gevraagd om op vakantie een mooi cadeau te kunnen kopen had ik speciaal voor hem een mooi doosje gemaakt waar hij zijn centjes netjes in op kon bergen."

*** Yesterday our son Roel turned 14. Time to party!

Instead of presents he asked for money for his birthday, so he can buy something nice while we are on vacation shortly. 

So I made him a nice box to keep his money safe during his birthday.

Dit doosje heb ik gemaakt met het Envelope Punch Board en was zodoende in een hand omdraai klaar! Wat is dat toch een geweldig apparaatje.

Om het doosje wat stoer aan te kleden heb ik de achtergrond bestempeld met de hardwood achtergrondstempel in smokey slate grijs, dezelfde kleur als het karton. Hierdoor krijg je een zachte uitstraling. Daaroverheen heb ik met Basic Gray de celebrate stempel uit de Starburst Sayings stempelset gestempeld. Deze set had ik al even liggen en ik had er tot nu toe weinig inspiratie voor, maar wát is dát een leuke set zeg! 

Het doosje zag er zo al leuk uit, maar ik wilde graag nog iets leuks er bovenop.

Hiervoor heb ik een stempel gepakt uit de set Great Sport en deze heb ik met Island Indigo blauw gestempeld. Daarna heb ik dit geheel met de Apothecary framelits uitgestanst en er nog een randje omheen geprikt met de bijpassende prikmal.

De cijfers heb ik uit het zilveren karton van Stampin' Up! gestanst.

What a great tool the Envelope Punch Board is.

To give the box a boyish look I stamped the Hardwood stamp in Smokey slate on my base.

On top of that I stamped the celebrate stamp from het Starburst Sayings stampset in Basic Gray.

I have had this set laying around workless for quite sometime, because I didn't have much inspiration for it, but I have to say now I used it....WHAT A GREAT SET!

The box looked already cute like this, but I wanted something fun on top.

I stamped a stamp from the set Great Sport in Island Indigo and used the Apothecary framelits to cut this out. The grades I die cut out of Stampin' Up!'s silver cardstock.

Het doosje heb ik dichtgebonden met een stuk cherry cobbler baker's twine.

Zo blijft het flapje meteen mooi op zijn plaats zonder dat je lijm of een klittenbandje nodig hebt.

Natuurlijk was het feest niet compleet zonder het teksten Happy Birthday.

Dit heb ik dan ook op een bannertje gestempeld om het wat extra feestelijkheid te geven.

We hebben de verjaardag gezellig in de tuin kunnen vieren met wat familie en vrienden.

Het was een gezellige dag!

This way the backflap stays in place without using glue or velcron.

Ofcourse the party wasn't complete without a Happy Birthday sentiment.

I made this on top of a banner to give it some extra festivity.

We were able to celebrate Roels birthday in our backyard with some friends and family.

We have had a fun day!

Flower shop met aquareltechniek

Heerlijk een nieuw aquareltechniekje zitten uitproberen. In dit geval is het een soort druppeltechniek.

Erg leuk te gebruiken bij stempels die opengewerkt zijn, zoals deze bloem uit de Flower Shop stempelset.

Hierbij heb ik expres voor leuke felle kleurtjes gekozen, zodat het een mooi zichtbaar effect geeft.

Nu had ik even geen aquarelpapier meer op voorraad, dus heb ik naar een alternatief gezocht.

Het effect met whisper white vond ik niet zo geweldig, dus toen heb ik het naturals white geprobeerd, omdat dit toch wat dikke papier is. En dat ging echt perfect! Daarbij heeft het dit papier een mooie natuurlijke uitstraling, wat ik echt geweldig vind.

Voor de achtergrond heb ik mijn favoriete Hardwood stempel gebruikt. Deze keer gestempeld in de kleur  Chocolate Chip op een crumb cake kaart, waardoor je echt een contrast krijgt. Dat was voor deze kaart ook de bedoeling.

*** Just been playing around with a new watercolor technique. In this case it's a dripple technique.

So much fun to use on lined stamps, like the one I used here out of the Flower Shop stampset.

For this technique I used bright colors, so the effect is clearly visable.

Unfortunately I ran out of watercolorpaper, so I looked for a replacement.

The effect on whisper white wasn't quite as good as I expected, but then I tried the naturals white cardstock, because this is a thicker cardstock. And wonderfully this worked out really well! 

This paper has a natural look which I really love.

For the background I used my favorite Hardwood stamp (again). This time I stamped it in the color Chocolate Chip on a crumb cake card, which gives a nice contrast. And I liked that on this card.

Aan de binnenkant heb ik een pocket gemaakt, waar nog een notitiekaart in kan.

Deze heb ik ook bestempeld en bewerkt met de aquareltechniek. Ik had er zoveel plezier in!

Daarnaast heb ik nog wat losse bloemen gestempeld en bewerkt. Deze heb ik uitgeponst met de bijpassende pons en ter versiering op de pocket bevestigd, zodat het een mooi geheel werd.

*** On the inside I made a pocket for a little notecard, which I also stamped and used the watercolor technique upon. I was having so much fun!

Also I stamped and punched some flowers to decorate the pocket, so the whole card is matching.

Hier zie je een close-up van de bloemen bewerkt met de aquareltechniek.

Het leuke aan deze techniek is, dat je het spontaan kunt laten ontstaan, maar je kunt het ook een beetje manipuleren door druppels te plaatsen waar jij ze graag zou willen zien.

*** Here's a close-up where you can see the watercolor technique on the flowers.

The fun part of this technique is you can either let the drops be spontanious or you can manipulate them a litte by placing them where you want a drop.

En hier is nog een ander kaartje dat ik met deze techniek heb gedaan.

Zoals jullie zien had ik er echt schik in!

Schuifkaart *** Slidercard

Gisteravond ben ik met een aantal dames heerlijk creatief bezig geweest en hebben we een schuifkaart gemaakt. Het was een heerlijke ontspannen avond waar ik erg van heb genoten. De dames zijn heerlijk aan de slag gegaan met vrolijke kleurtjes en zelf heb ik deze keer ook mee kunnen doen. Ik heb een andere variant gemaakt met de stempelset Stippled Blossoms. Met deze mooie set heb je in een handomdraai een prachtig resultaat. Je stempelt eerst de basis in de lichte kleur en daarna zet je de detailstempel in een donkerdere kleur over de basis bloem heen met de stamp a majic, waardoor de bloem meer diepte krijgt en wat meer ´tot leven komt´.

***  Last night I had a creative night together with some lovely ladies. We made a slidercard.

It was a pretty relaxing evening which I really enjoyed. The ladies worked with some fun colors. Lucky for me I could play along too this time and I made a different variation with the Stippled Blossoms stampset. With this pretty set you´ll have a beautiful result in no time. First you stamp the base flower in a lighter color and after that you place the detailed stamp over it with the stamp a majic in a darker color. This gives the flower more depth and brings it a little more to life. 

Ook op de zijpanelen heb ik deze bloemen gestempeld, maar ik heb nog wel wat ruimte open gehouden om eventueel nog een tekstje voor de ontvanger te kunnen schrijven.

In de harten van de bloemen heb ik nog wat glitter aangebracht met wat dazzling diamonds.

*** The side panels are stamped with the flowers as well, but I left a little room in case I would like to write something to the receiver.

In the hearts of the flowers I added a little glitter with dazzling diamonds.

De dames die de workshop hebben gevolgd, hebben deze vrolijke variatie gemaakt met Sale A Bration producten. Er is hard doorgewerkt door de dames en zij gingen allemaal met een mooi resultaat naar huis.

Het was zo leuk om te zien dat ze helemaal trots waren op hun creatie!

En helemaal leuk is, dat hoewel iedereen dezelfde kaart heeft gemaakt, de uitkomst toch net allemaal even anders was door de eigen inbreng. Helemaal leuk!

*** The ladies that were present at my workshop made this slidercard with Sale A Bration products.

They really worked hard and they all went home with a beautiful result. They were so proud of their creations!

The funny thing is, that however everyone made the same card, they all came out a little differently, because of the own input of the workshoppers. So much fun!

Sending Good Thoughts Your Way

Het beloofd weer een mooie dag te worden, dus tijd voor een zonnig en fleurig kaartje!

Ik zat even in een stempeldip met weinig inspiratie. Ja echt, dat heb ik ook van tijd tot tijd.

En dan is Pinterest toch een heerlijk medium om even op te snuffelen en inspiratie op te doen.

*** It looks promising to be a beautiful day, so time for a sunny floral card!

I was having a bit of a stampin' dip with little inspiration. Yes, I do have those too from time to time.

And I am so happy there's Pinterest for these times to snoop around for some inspiration.

Zo kwam ik op mijn card inspiration bord een mooie vrolijke kaart tegen van Dawn McVey.

Ik werd er blij van. Dus besloot ik deze kaart na te maken met Stampin' Up! producten.

De kleurtjes Daffodil Delight (geel) en Tempting Turquoise (blauw) vind ik heel mooi bij elkaar, al zou ik het zelf waarschijnlijk nooit verzonnen hebben om deze 2 kleuren te combineren.

Dat is het leuke als je eens kleuren pakt die je zelf niet zo snel zou kiezen, dan zie je opeens dat ze toch wel heel leuk zijn en zeker in combinatie met elkaar.

*** On my Card Inspiration Board I came across a happy card made by Dawn McVey.

It made me happy, so I decided to case this card with Stampin' Up! products.

The colors Daffodil Delight (yellow) and Tempting Turquoise (blue) fit each other well, eventhough I probably wouldn't have picked them together myself.

But that's just the fun part working with colors you normally wouldn't pick so easily. You suddenly see them work in combination with each other.

Natuurlijk heb ik aan dit kaartje ook wel een beetje de Caro touch gegeven. Maar de credits voor het overall design gaan voor deze kaart naar Dawn McVey. Ik vind haar stijl geweldig. Zij is een van mijn inspiratiebronnen.

** Ofcours I cased this card with a little Caro touch. But the credits for the overall design go to Dawn McVey. I really love her style. She's one of favorite inspiration sources.

Voor deze kaart heb ik gebruik gemaakt van de stempelset Simple Stems. Een prachtige set met bloemen.

De tekst komt uit de set Perfect Pennants. 

Op de achtergrond zie je heel subtiel de hardwood achtergrondstempel gestempeld in Sahara Sand.

De kleine bloemetjes zijn gemaakt met 1 van de Itty Bitty ponsjes (setje van 3 kleine ponsjes).

Als extra details heb ik een vlinder geponst uit vellum met de Elegant Butterfly pons en met silver glimmerpaper een vlindertje geponst met de Bitty Butterfly pons. Deze 2 ponsen blijf ik toch wel heel snel pakken voor het maken van vlindertjes. Het vlindertje is afgestyled met een klein bloemetje wat ik nog over had en een basic rhinestone jewel (plak diamantje).

Verder heb ik nog 2 knoopjes uit de brights designer buttons gebruikt en een stukje linnen thread (bruin touwtje) om het geheel af te maken.

De onderkant van de kaart heb ik met de Large Scallop Edgelits afgesneden als leuk extra detail. 

Weer eens wat anders dan een rechte onderkant.

*** For this card I used the stampset Simple Stems. A beautiful set of flowers.

The sentiment is from the stampset Perfect Pennants.

On the background you will notice a subtile Hardwood background stamp stamped in Sahara Sand.

The little flowers are made with one of the Itty Bitty punches (a 3 pack).

An extra detail is the vellum butterfly punched with the Elegant Butterfly punch. On top I punched a butterfly out of silver glimmer paper with the Bitty Butterfly punch. These 2 punches are my favorites! I love making butterflies with them. This butterfly is styled with a little flower I had left over and a basic jewel rhinestone.

Also I added 2 brights designer buttons and a little piece of linnen thread for some extra decoration.

The bottom of the card I cut off with the Large Scallop Edgelits as a neat detail.

So much more fun than a regular straight card.

Van de week heb ik jullie een paar kaarten laten zien, die gemaakt zijn met de hardwood achtergrond stempel. Nu had ik nog wat restjes liggen van die kaarten. Zonde om weg te gooien!

Vandaar dat ik nog even aan het prutsen ben geweest en daar is dit kaartje uitgekomen.

Weer een beetje in dezelfde trant als de vorige kaartjes, maar het is ook zo leuk om met die houten achtergrond te spelen! Deze keer ook maar weer eens een vlindertje gebruikt, want dat was alweer veel te lang geleden. En zo zie je dat je met een paar restjes ook best nog een leuk kaartje in elkaar kunt flansen.

*** This week I showcased a few cards using the hardwood background stamp. I had some scraps left over and didn´t want to through them away, so I figured out I could make another card. This is what came out of these scraps.

This card is simular to the other cards I showd you, but it´s so much fun playing with the hardwood background stamp. This time I used a butterfly again, because I haven´t used a butterfly for way too long on my creations. Kind of got to miss it. And so you see you can make a pretty nice card with some scraps as well.

Something old / Something new

Ojee, ik was weer eens te laat met een verjaardagskaart sturen...oopsie!

Dus snel nog even iets in elkaar flansen.

Voor deze kaart heb ik eens terug gegrepen naar een oud setje Fresh Vintage en  ik heb dit gecombineerd met de Stampin' Up! thinlits card dies en mijn nieuwe Remembering your birthday stempels.

Deze keer heb ik voor een vrij frisse kleurcombinatie gekozen, namelijk Calypso Coral met Sahara Sand.

Wat mij betreft werkt deze combinatie best goed!

So I made a quick card.

For this card I used the retired stampset Fresh Vintage and I combined this with the Stampin' Up! thinlits card dies and my new Rembering your birthday stamps.

This time I chose a fresh color combination of Calypso Coral and Sahara Sand.

Which actually seem te work rather well I guess!

Tagging Matchbox met bijpassende kaart - downline gift

Laatst had ik zo'n schattig matchbox doosje gemaakt met het punchboard. Ik kon het niet laten om er nog 1 te maken. Ik zat te wachten op mijn nieuwe tag topper pons, want ik wilde er meteen labels in maken.

Dus toen deze eenmaal arriveerde ben ik er meteen mee aan de slag gegaan.

Dit doosje met labeltjes heb ik speciaal gemaakt voor Annemarie de Mooij, die pas is gepromoveerd naar Bronze 3!

Wow, wat een mooie prestatie heeft Annemarie neer gezet.

Al mijn eerste lijns downlines, d.w.z. degene die direct onder mij zijn ingeschreven, krijgen als ze promoveren naar een niveau hoger een kraal voor aan de sleutelhanger, die zij krijgen bij promotie naar Bronze 2.

Annemarie heeft er dus een kraaltje bij verdient!

Wow, what a great achievement Annemarie.

All my first line downlines, the demonstrators signed up directly to me, get a lovely Pandora like keychain with beads. For every promotion they will get another bead.

Op de labels heb ik de tekstjes amazing you, you can do it, congratulations, celebrate en thank you van de hostess stempelset Express Yourself gestempeld.

Ik vond dit wel leuke toepasselijke tekstjes voor op de labels.

*** On the label I used some sentiments from the Express Yourself (hostess)stampset; amazing you, you can do it, congratulations, celebrate and thank you.

I thought these were fun and appropriate sentiments to use on the labels for this occassion.

Hier is nog even een labeltje van dichterbij.

Ik heb de kleuren coastal cabana en bermuda bay gebruikt.

En gewerkt met de sets Gorgeous Grunge en Hearts a Flutter.

Die hartjes blijven leuk!

Dit project is ook leuk te maken als valentijnsproject, voor als je iets leuks wilt maken voor je man of een lieve vriend(in).

I used the colors coastal cabana and bermuda bay, which seem my favorite colors at the moment.

For this project I used the stamp sets Gorgeous Grunge and Hearts a Flutter.

Aren't those hearts sweet!

This will also make a fun valentine project if you'd like to make a special something for your husband of just a sweet friend.

Vandaag zag ik toch zo'n leuk kaartje op het blog van Cornelie!

Dat kaartje riep: "Case mij, case mij!"

Nou dat kun je dan toch niet weigeren toch?!

Ik moest meteen aan de hardwood achtergrond stempel denken en het SAB papier en 1+1 was 2.

Right away the hardwood stamp came to mind and the SAB designer paper.

1+1 = 2...

En dit is mijn uitvoering geworden. Een klein beetje hetzelfde en toch een beetje anders.

Ik heb er een vriendschapskaartje van gemaakt. Dat vond ik wel mooi.

Voor het tekstje heb ik gebruik gemaakt van een stempel uit de Sentimenten van Stampin' Up!

Dat is toch zo'n verschrikkelijk handige set met tekstjes voor allerlei gelegenheden.

Ik gebruik 'm super graag!

Gelukkig Nieuwjaar swaps voor Dutch Pinkies Craft Reward weekend

Zo, ik ben nog even aan het bijkomen hoor!

Afgelopen weekend ben ik een weekendje in Beekbergen geweest met allemaal meiden van de Dutch Pinkies. 

En wát wás het super gezelllig!!

De Dutch Pinkies, zijn alle downlines uit Nederland die in het team van de Engelse Michelle Last zitten.

Michelle heeft speciaal voor ons een Craft Reward weekend georganiseerd.

Over dit super weekend zal ik van de week nog een leuk verslagje maken.

Het is op deze dagen ook gebruikelijk om ruilcadeautjes (de zogeheten swaps) voor elkaar mee te nemen.

Ik had voor iedereen een klein doosje met een theelichtje gemaakt.

I've been away to Beekbergen for a girl weekend of crafting fun with the Dutch Pinkies.

And boy, did we have fun!

The Dutch Pinkies are a group of downlines from the Netherlands who are all in the team of the lovely English Michelle Last.

Michelle provided a Craft Reward weekend for us.

I will make a blogpost about this fantastic event later this week.

It is custom that we make each other little presents to trade (the so called swaps).

My swap was a little box with a big waxine in it.

For my own girls I made a golden version, because they are just a little more special to me.

Maar de doosjes in de diverse andere papiertjes zijn ook best leuk toch?!

Ik had even niet zoveel inspiratie, omdat het voor mij een vrij drukke periode was.

Daarom is het een vrij eenvoudig doosje geworden.

Althans, dat dacht ik, totdat ik het ging maken.

Want uiteindelijk was het toch nog meer werk dan ik van te voren had gedacht.

Maar gelukkig heb ik hele goede hulp gekregen van mijn lieve assistente.

Hierdoor kon het klusje toch nog op tijd geklaard worden.

I didn't have much inspiration, because it was such a busy time, so I kept my project simple. At least that's what I thought, until I was making it!

It was a bit more work then I expected.

But luckily my darling assistent helped me a lot, so the job was done in time.
