Afgelopen zaterdag ben ik met
Heidi naar de Sinterklaasintocht in Dordrecht geweest. Natuurlijk had ik voor haar en haar dochter een kleinigheidje meegenomen. Voor Yentl wist ik meteen wat ik wilde maken, want ik had nl. laatst van
Diana zo'n leuk doosje met 'lege' kaartjes gekregen. Kijk nou toch eens hoe schattig!

Last Saturday I visited Heidi for a Dutch tradition. In the Netherlands we have Sinterklaas (Santa Claus) who comes from Spain to visit us for his birthday. This year he arrived in Dordrecht (hometown of Heidi and I grew up there)....so of course we were there at the harbour where the boat arrived. I brought Heidi and her daughter Yentl a little handmade present. Immediately I knew what to make Yentl, since I got this cute little card box from my friend Diana the other day. Look how cute it is!!
Zoiets wilde ik ook voor Yentl maken. Maar ja, Caro zou Caro niet zijn als het geen last-minute ideetje was. En wat denk je....ik kon het patroontje niet vinden! Probleempje!!! Maar gelukkig kon
Diana me uit de brand helpen door het patroon even te mailen. Waar zouden we toch zijn zonder mail! Dit is het doosje dat ik voor Yentl heb gemaakt. Ik heb een Bella stempel gebruik. Eigenlijk is het een afdrukje dat ik ooit van
Christa heb gekegen.
De vleugeltjes heb ik laten glitteren met stickles.

I wanted to make something simular for Yentl. But hey, Caro wouldn't be Caro if it wasn't a last-minute idea! Guess what...I couldn't find the instructions! BIG PROBLEM!!! Lucky for me Diana could help me out by e-mailing the instructions. Where would we be without E-mail nowadays! This is the box I made for Yentl. I used a Bella stamp. Actually it's a print I got from Christa once. I used some stickles on the wings to add some glitter.
Onder het zoeken naar het patroon van het doosje met kaartjes voor Yentl kwam ik een ander leuk doosje tegen! Ojee, dat MOEST ik natuurlijk voor
Heidi maken!

While searching for the instructions of the cardbox I made for Yentl I came across another cute little box! Oh boy, I just HAD to make this for Heidi!
Ik weet dat
Heidi in haar knutselkamer een turquoise blauwe muur heeft, dus ik besloot dat het in ieder geval iets met tempting turqouise moest worden. Lastige kleur om te combineren, maar het bruin maakt het wat 'rustiger'. Op het doosje heb ik het gestempelde bewerkt met holografisch embossingpoeder. Dat geeft een feestelijk effect. Aangezien het al wat laat was toen ik met dit idee op de proppen kwam heb ik helaas de swirl op het doosje niet helemaal lekker 'aangesloten'. Ik had geen zin om nog op zoek te gaan naar mijn stempellineaal. Errug he!
In het doosje zitten 4 bijpassende kaartjes. Achteraf had ik de hoekjes van de kaartjes misschien ook nog kunnen afronden, maar al met al ben ik toch nog best tevreden voor zo'n last-minute projekt.

I know Heidi has a turquoise blue wall in her stamping room, so it had to be something with tempting turquoise. But that's a difficult color to combine. I choose brown to make the whole a bit more 'quiet'. The stamped images on the box are all embossed with holographic embossing pouder to give it an extra festive touch. Since it was a bit late when I got this idea I didn't manage to stamp the swirl image to my satisfaction. But I didn't have the energy to go and find my stamp ruler (stamp-a-majic).
In the box are 4 matching cards. I was thinking afterwards I could have rounded the corners of the cards as well. Overall I am pretty pleased with the result of this last-minute project.
I lifted her creation. I only used different colors.
