Deze maand mocht het Artisan Design Team aan de slag met de mooie bomen uit het IN THE PINES product pakket. Deze set is o.a. erg leuk om je eigen bos landschapjes mee te maken.
*** This month the Artisan Design Team got to work with the beautiful trees out of the IN THE PINES bundle. With this set it is fun to create your own forest landscapes.

Maar het IN THE PINES product pakket is ook erg leuk met andere stempelsets te combineren, zoals de WARM & TOASTY stempelset.
*** The IN THE PINES bundle can also easily be combined with other stamp set, such as the WARM & TOASTY stamp set.
Met de bomen uit het IN THE PINES product pakket kun je erg leuke achtergrondjes maken voor een gezellig winters tafereeltje.
Voor de bovenstaande 2 kaarten heb ik eerst een aquarel achtergrond gemaakt op shimmery white papier.. Hiervoor gebruikte ik de kleuren Just Jade, Bermuda Bay en Pool Party.
Toen de achtergrond eenmaal droog was heb ik de bomen erop gestempeld met Just Jade en Soft Suede inkt. Daarna heb ik de bomen met de bijpassende snijmallen uitgestanst.
Door de bomen in laagjes een beetje over elkaar heen op te plakken creëer je diepte op je kaart. En wanneer je er met de gestikte rechthoek stansen er een lijstje omheen maakt, heb je als het ware een schilderijtje op je kaart.
*** Make your own cosy winterscene with the IN THE PINES product package, like I did for the 2 cards above. First I created a watercolor background on shimmery white cardstock. I used the colors Just Jade, Bermuda Bay and Pool Party.
Once the background was dry, I stamped the trees with Just Jade and Soft Suede ink. To cut out the trees I used the matching dies.
You can create depth on your card by layering the trees in an order you like. When you make a frame around it with the Stitched Rectangle Dies, you have your own painting on a card.
Ik had nog wat over van de aquarel achtergrond. Hiermee maakte ik nog twee kaartjes. Deze keer alleen met het IN THE PINES product pakket, want ook zonder andere stempelsets kun je hiermee mooie kaarten maken. Niet alleen voor kerst, maar ook voor andere gelegenheden.
*** With some leftover pieces from the watercolor background I made two more cards. This time I only used the IN THE PINES bundle, to show you don't necessarily need other stamp sets to create pretty cards with this bundle. This set is versatile to use and isn't just for Christmas.
De grote boom is uit de aquarelachtergrond gesneden met de DENNENBOSSTANSEN. Om de boom wat meer swung te geven heb ik een piepklein beetje soft suede inkt aangebracht met een aquarelpenseel. Hierbij kleurde ik van de stam naar boven.
Ik stempelde nog wat bomen in Just Jade op hetzelfde aquarelachtergrond papier en herhaalde het proces met het aquarelpenseel.
*** The large tree is a watercolor background die cut with the PINE WOOD DIES. To give the tree a bit more depth I picked up a teeny tiny bit of soft suede ink on a water painter and colored from the trunk upwards.
I stamped some trees in Just Jade on the same water color background and repeated the proces with the waterpainter.
Zoals je weet ben ik gek op het maken van setjes kaarten. Nu had ik 2 setjes van 2 kaarten, waar ik toch één geheel van wilde maken. Dit deed ik door dezelfde kleuren te gebruiken op alle kaarten en door op iedere kaart dezelfde achtergrond te maken met glinsterende witte embossing pasta.
Achtergrond maken met embossingpasta en decoratiesjablonen:
- Leg je papier op een craft sheet (tip: gebruik een iets groter papier dan je uiteindelijk nodig hebt).
- Leg hier overheen een decoratiesjabloon
- Zet vast met wat washi tape.
- Smeer met een paletmes een dunne laag pasta over het masker op je papier
- Smeer de pasta egaal uit over de volledige oppervlakte van je papier
- Haal voorzichtig het masker van je papier af
- Maak meteen het decoratiesjabloon schoon met een babydoekje en/of spoel af onder de kraan
- Laat de pasta uitharden
- Snij je papier op de juiste maat en voilà!
*** As you might know I love making card sets. The only problem was I had 2 sets of 2 cards and wanted to make 1 set of 4 cards. I solved this problem by using the same colors on all 4 cards and I created the same background with shimmery white embossingpaste on each card.
How to make a background using Embossing Paste and Decoratieve Masks:
- Put your paper on a craft sheet (tip: use a slightly bigger piece of paper than you eventually need).
- Put your decorative mask on top of your paper
- Stick it down with washi tape
- Use a palette knive (also sold by Stampin' Up!) to spread a thin layer of embossing past over the mask and onto your paper
- Spread the paste evenly over the entire surface of the paper
- Carefully remove the mask
- Clean the mask immediately with a baby whipe or better yet rinse it off with water
- Let the paste harden
- Cut your paper in the right size and there you go!
En dit is uiteindelijk de set met kaarten geworden. Ik hoop dat je mijn creaties leuk vindt geworden.

Oh Caro, the shimmery stencilled backgrounds are perfect - opulent yet not stealing the show. I like the way you've used circles in different ways to frame your scenes. Lovely!
