Soms heb je weleens een kaartje nodig voor de minder leuke dingen van het leven.
Ik wilde graag een mooi stemmig kaartje maken, maar wel met een beetje swung van het leven en vooral niet te stijf. Hoop dat dat hiermee gelukt is.

*** Sometimes you need a card for things that are not so great about life.
I wanted to make a beautiful stylish card with a small swing of life and certainly not too old fashioned. Hopefully this is it.

Rugzakjes *** Backpacks

 

Gisteren heb ik deze 2 schattige rugzakjes gemaakt. Ik vond het patroontje {hier} op de site van Splitcoaststampers. Het is een patroontje van Mary Arima. Dank je wel voor het delen Mary! Wannneer je het patroontje ook wilt moet je wel lid zijn/worden van Splitcoaststampers. Maar don't worry, het is gratis! Dit is een site vol inspiratie, dus zeker de moeite waard om lid te worden. De meeste van jullie zijn denk ik al wel lid. Maar ik wilde het toch even melden voor de mensen die deze site nog niet ontdekt hebben.

But for the people who haven't discovered this wonderful site full of inspiration I just wanted to mention it.

 

Dit is de voorkant van de rugzakjes. Ik heb geprobeerd ze van alle kanten een beetje te fotograferen. Ben alleen de achterkant helemaal vergeten. Oopsie!

Zijn ze niet schattig?
Ik heb voor deze tasjes het mooie papier van Jillibean Soup gebruikt; blended beans en Shell macaroni van de Pasta Fagioli serie.
Normaal hou ik niet zo van oranje, maar dit papier vind ik toch wel erg mooi. Zeker de combi met het licht blauwe stipjes papier maakt het heerlijk fris. Althans, dat vind ik dan. Je hoeft het er natuurlijk helemaal niet mee eens te zijn, want smaken verschillen nu eenmaal. Gelukkig maar! Anders werd het zoooo saai op deze aardbol.
Oke, terug naar het project. Ik heb de rugzakjes afgestyled met wit lint van Stampin' Up! en ook de knoopjes zijn van Stampin' Up!. In plaats van magneetjes heb ik gewoon een klein stukje klittenband gebruikt om de flapjes dicht te maken.
Het tekstje heb ik niet gestempeld, want helaas had ik geen fijne vakantie stempel. Balen! Maar goed, dan biedt Word uitkomst. Ik heb het tekstje uit Word geprint (lettertype 2peas Plain Jane) en daarna met de word window punch uitgeponst.
Een van de tasjes heb ik vandaag al weggeven. Ik heb hierin een mini tubetje zonnebrand, dagcreme en facewash gekocht. Degene die het mocht krijgen was erg enthousiast gelukkig.

For this project I just the lovely paper of Jillibean Soup; blended beans and Shell macaroni of the Pasta Fagioli serie.
Normally speaking I am not so fond of orange, but I just love this paper. Especially combined with the little blue dotted paper I guess it's a nice and fresh combination. But that's my opinion. You don't have to agree with me. Luckily people do have different taste otherwise the world would be a boring place.
Okay, back to the project. I styled the backpacks off with white grosgrain ribbon (Stampin'Up!) and also the buttons are from Stampin' Up! Instead of using little magnets I used little pieces of Velcro to close the bag and the front pocket.
I didn't stamp the sentiment, because I haven't got one that says Nice vacation!(in Dutch) What a bummer! So I printed my sentiment from Word (font: 2peas Plain Jane)and punched it out with the Word Window punch.
Today I already gave one of these bags away. I bought little tubes of sunmilk, daycream and facewash to put into the bag. Fortunately the lucky one who got this bag was really enthousiastic.

Babykaarten maken blijf ik lastig vinden. Het heeft dan ook even geduurd voordat deze uit mijn handen is gekomen. Na wat tips van Christa om me op weg te helpen en een beetje inspiratie van Jennifer McGuire is het toch nog gelukt om er iets van te bakken.
De achtergrondstempel Plaid van Darkroom Door blijft 1 van mijn favorietjes. Hij is zo leuk te combineren met van alles en nog wat. Deze keer heb ik 'm gecombineerd met de ster en het kroontje uit de set Adorable baby van Zo Kris. Ook hier heb ik weer gebruik gemaakt van de yummie lintjes van Jillibean Soup. Zoooo schattig! De chipboard letters heb ik ooit eens bij het Kruidvat gekocht en de rode knoop is van Stampin Up!

*** Making Baby cards isn't easy in my opinion. It has taken me for ever to come up with this one. After some tips from my friend Christa and some serious inspiration I found on Jennifer Mc Guire's blog I finally made this card.
The plaid background Stamp (Darkroom Door) is still one of my favorites. It's so easy to combine with almost anything! This time I combined it with the star and crown of the set Adorable Baby by Zo Kris. I used some yummie ribbons from Jillibean Soup again. Aren't they cute?! The chipboard letters I found in a local drugstore and the red button is from Stampin' Up!

Christmas in July

 

 

Sommige familieleden (en een zekere collega, waarvan ik de naam niet ga noemen) verklaren me helemaal voor Sjaak dat ik nu al met de kerst bezig ben. Eigenlijk is het ook wel een beetje gek, zeker als je bedenkt dat ik helemaal niet zo van kerst hou. Ik snap dat er mensen zijn die dat niet begrijpen, maar die donkere dagen zijn niks voor mij. Geef mij maar de lente!
Maar goed, ik had nog een restje liggen van het papier dat ik heb gebruikt voor de diaper fold pouch. Dit kon ik natuurlijk niet weggooien. ZONDE! Hier heb ik nog maar even een kaartje van gefabriekt. Dit is 'm!
Ik heb het rendier van Darkroom Door met Sea white foam (van Ranger) geembosst en de poststempel (Darkroom door) + het tekstje (Waltzing Mouse) heb ik met Sternenstaub black diamonds bewerkt om het een extra feestelijke touch te geven.
Gelukkig had ik ook nog van dat super leuke lint van Jillibean Soup. Ben er helemaal weg van!
De randpons (Avec) is ook 1 van mijn nieuwe favorieten (slechts €5,95!). Die zal nog geregeld voorbij komen ben ik bang.
Nou lieve bloglezers, ik hoop dat jullie dit kleine kaartje ook zo schattig vinden. Als extra dingetje heb ik nog een piepklein rood strass-steentje op de neus van dear old Rudolph geplakt. Is het niet enig?!
Dank jullie wel voor alle leuke reacties die ik steeds mag ontvangen op mijn berichten. Het is super leuk om te lezen dat er mensen zijn die het leuk vinden wat ik maak. Dus een DIKKE DANK JE WEL voor jullie!

*** Some people in my family (and a certain colleague) are thinking I'm nuts since I'm already pretty busy with Christmas. Actually it's not that funny they think so. Especially when you know I'm not very fond of the Christmasperiod at all. I understand there are people who cannot imagine that's even possible, but these dark dayse are not for me. I feel better in Spring!
Anyway, I've had a leftover piece of cardstock from my diaper fold pouch. I couldn't get it over my heart to through it away. So I made a quick card out of it. This is the one!
I embossed the reindeer of Darkroom Door with Sea white foam (Ranger) and the postmark (Darkroom Door) + sentiment (Waltzing Mouse) I embossed with Sternenstaub black diamonds to give it just an extra festive edge.
Fortunately I also had some leftover ribbon from Jillibean Soup. Which I think is absolutely adorable!
The borderpunch (Avec) I used is one of my new favorites (for sale for only €5,95!). You're going to see that one on more of my creations I am affraid.
Well my dear blogreaders...I hope you will think this little card is adorable. As a little extra touch I put a teeny weeny little red stone on the nose of dear old Rudolph. Cute hey?!

Christmas Diaper fold pouch with matching card

 

 

 

Op het blog van de Dutch Card Lovers zag ik een leuke uitdaging voorbij komen. Ik wilde ook zo'n leuk diaperding maken en had er meteen een kerstidee bij! Dat kwam heel goed uit, want vandaag zag ik dat er bij Paper Players een kerstuitdaging is. Heb ik toch mooi 2 vliegen in 1 klap gevangen! hihihi
Na 2 Magnoliaatjes was ik wel weer toe aan 'mijn eigen stijltje'.
Een paar maanden terug heb ik de kerstballen van Stampin'Up! van Christa over kunnen nemen met bijpassende pons. Die wilde ik graag eens gebruiken.Ik heb de ballen lekker laten glitteren (natuurlijk!) met iridescent ice embossingpoeder (SU!).
Daarbij heb ik het super leuke papier van Jillybean Soup gebruikt. Het gave van dit papier is dat er aan 1 kant een print zit en de andere kant is kraftkleur. Je kunt dus leuk spelen met dit papier. Daarom was het uitermate geschikt voor dit project. Bij het kaartje heb ik een rand geponsd en deze omgevouwen. Daarover heen een leuk bijpassend lintje van Jillybean Soup en voila! De touwtjes die ik heb gebruikt zaten bij de lintjes en zijn dus ook van Jillybean Soup. Super leuk om mee te werken en het past allemaal zo goed bij elkaar! Net als bij Stampin'Up! Love it!
De zwarte tekstjes heb ik met Hein Design Sternenstaub geembosst. Ik ben echt verslaafd aan dat spul!
Kortom, ik zit weer helemaal onder de glitter!!

*** The Dutch Card Lovers have a great challenge for you! I couldn't help myself, I just had to play along with this Diaper fold challenge. Immediately a Christmas project came to my mind. Which was really convenient, because today I saw a Christmas challenge at the Paper Players. I catched 2 flies at once!(Dutch saying) hihihi
After 2 Magnoliacards I was ready for 'my own style' again.
A few months ago I bought the 2 christmas decorations sets of SU! with the matching punch 2nd hand from my friend Christa. I really wanted to use these. I used some iridescent ice embossingpouder (SU!) so the decorations glitter away! (ofcourse!)
Also I used the superduper fun paper of Jillybean Soup. I absolutely love this paper since one side is printed and the other one is kraft. Which was very suitable for this little project!
For the card I punched a piece of cardstock and folded this so you see a piece of printed cardstock underneath. A matching Jillybean Soup ribbon really makes a difference! The little pieces of string came with the ribbon, so they are also from Jillybean Soup. This all is so much fun to use and it matches so well together, just like SU! Love it!
The black sentiments are embossed with Hein Design Sternenstaub (black) embossingpouder. I am addicted to this stuff.
Anyway, I am glittered all over again!

Via google vond ik inspiratie voor deze kaart. De kaart heb ik gelift van Dena's stamping corner. Heb 'm niet helemaal hetzelfde gemaakt, want MEN wat een werk!
Alle rode draadjes heb ik met de hand zitten borduren...pffff...dat doe ik dus noooit meer! Teveel gedoe voor deze chica hoor!!

*** Through google I found inspiration for this card. I cased this card from Dena's stamping corner. Didn't copy the card exactly, because BOY what a job! All the red stitches I sewed by hand....pffff... so much work...I'm never gonna do this again! Too much trouble for this chica!!

Caro goes Magnolia

 

 

Je zult het niet geloven, maar ik heb weer 2 Magnolia creaties gemaakt!
Straks ga ik het nog leuk vinden. whahaha
Nee hoor, maar gekheid. Ik vind ze ook wel leuk, maar het is niet zo mijn ding.
Af en toe voor de afwisseling vind ik het weleens grappig om te doen.
Dat komt omdat ik kleuren wel heel leuk vind, maar ik ben er dan weer niet zo goed in.
Ik heb voor zowel de kaart als het tasje het prachtige papier van My Mind's eye gebruikt.
Wat gaaf die glitters erop! Ja, jullie weten het ik ben Caro gek op Glitter! hahaha
De kaart heb ik afgestyled met de knoopjes van dezelfde serie. Zoooo gaaf!
Het tasje heb ik afgewerkt met parelbrads ook van dezelfde serie en een leuk bijpassend gehaakt lint.
Ik vind het wel geinig geworden voor iemand die niet zo into Magnolia is en jullie?

I'm just kiddin'. I like Magnolia, but it's just not my style.
But every once and a while I like making one or two for a chance.
This is because I like coloring. I'm just not very good at it.
I used for the card and the tote the beautiful paper of My Mind's eye.
So cool it's all glittered! And you know it...I'm Caro loves Glitter! hahaha
This card is styled with buttons of the same series as the paper. Sooo neat!
I styled the tote with pearlbreads also from the same series and nice matching lace ribbon.
I think it turned out okay for someone who isn't really into Magnolia and you?

Mijn 1e workshop bij Scrap My Dream / My 1st workshop @ Scrap My Dream

Gisteren heb ik voor het eerst een kaartenworkshop gegeven bij Scrap My Dream. Dat was best wel spannend! Er waren 3 deelnemers, maar voor een eerste keer was dat in het geheel niet erg. Ik vond het wel fijn dat ik het zo een beetje kon uitproberen.
Het is een hele gezellige dag geweest. Hieronder vind je een impressie van de hele dag.

*** Yesterday I've had my first workshop @ Scrap My Dream. It was exciting! There were 3 participants this time. I didn't mind, because I could have a little try out this way. It has been a very nice day! Underneath you'll find an impression of the day.

 

Ik wil Maaike graag bedanken voor haar gastvrijheid, alle verleende hand en spandiensten en niet te vergeten de overheerlijke lunch!

Monique en Ankie hadden eigenlijk geen hulp nodig. Wat zijn ze lekker in de weer!

Er werd druk gewerkt, want het viel nog niet mee om alles op tijd af te krijgen, maar gelukkig konden ze met een afgewerkt project naar huis.

Nan puft even uit van een lange dag. Maar volgens mij vond ze het hardstikke leuk.
*** Nan is taking a break from a long day. But I guess she had a wonderful time.


Gezellig was het!

En dit hebben we gemaakt. Ergens na de zomervakantie doen we het nog eens over. Dus wil je ook dit leuke doosje maken geef je dan bij Maaike op!
